Woodford Reserve is one of Kentucky’s most celebrated craft bourbon distilleries — produced at the historic Woodford Reserve Distillery on Glenn's Creek in Versailles, the oldest operating distillery in Kentucky. The Double Oaked is their most distinctive expression: after completing its standard aging in new charred oak barrels, the bourbon is transferred to a second barrel — this one heavily toasted and lightly charred — for an additional period of maturation. The result is a bourbon of exceptional depth, richness, and complexity, layering the classic Woodford character with an entirely new dimension of caramel, chocolate, and dark fruit.

After the usual aging time, this Bourbon is then moved to a heavily-toasted, lightly-charred barrel to extract additional oak flavor. The end result is deep amber in the glass, with bright spice cake and baked apple fragrance. On the palate, it’s lightly sweet at first, showing creamy caramel, but finishes dry, with touches of espresso, oak and baking chocolate. Overall, a bold, flavorful sipper.

• 2oz Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
• 1oz La Copa Sweet Vermouth
• 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
• 1 dash Reagan’s Orange Bitters
• Brandied cherries for garnish

Add all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe or serve on the rocks. Garnish with a skewer of brandied cherries.
