2021 was a fantastic growing season. Laurel Glen Vineyard experienced a dry winter, a cool spring, and a warm summer without major heat waves. After the cold start, the growing season progressed to a warm and fast finish with excellent quality for Cabernet Sauvignon. The drought caused grapes to be smaller and more concentrated than usual, with good sugar accumulation and high natural acidity. Labor was a significant issue for many wineries in 2021, with more machine harvesters being used than in the past. Laurel Glen continued with traditional hand harvesting of the clusters.
